The additional cost at the onset of green building development varies depending on the green building rating achieved, namely: Basic, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
For Basic certification, there is generally no additional cost required. However, if a project attains Gold to Platinum ratings, the additional cost required will amount to 10-15% of total development funds.
The operational cost of a green building is assured to be significantly cheaper than conventional buildings. This is because the building is designed with lower energy and water consumption.
